Dog friendly hikes in Oregon

Trails mapped as open to dogs.

These are the Oregon trails that carry an explicit dog permission in the map data. The list is smaller than the number of trails that actually allow dogs, because most trails say nothing either way and silence is not a permission worth printing.

Two rules override anything on this page, and both are common in Oregon. Posted signs at the trailhead take precedence over any map. And leash requirements are the norm rather than the exception on public land here — particularly in state parks, and seasonally almost everywhere that shares ground with nesting birds or grazing stock.

Wilderness areas and most designated swimming beaches are the usual places a dog is not welcome even where the surrounding forest is fine.
